HOWEDS | PERESTROIKA
writer, director, producer, actor, editor | 2018
When I was 23, I dedicated myself to making a feature film about teenagers in my hometown called Howeds. The movie was an anti-Apatow coming-of-age, a Jewish Sopranos for kids about the alienation, confusion and inferiority complexes I witnessed in young men like myself and around me. With the help of dozens of collaborators from college and my hometown of Wayne, NJ, we made the big experiment over multiple years and screened to a packed house of 200+ at the NYU Cantor Film Center. You can watch the whole thing on Vimeo if you want to know about my high school days a little too well.
